ASUS Eee PC Model Comparisons:
There are currently 5 Eee PC models that you can choose from. The most standard being the Eee PC 4G which has a list price of $399 and is a good all purpose machine. It features a 4 GB SSD, 512 MB RAM, a 3.5 hour battery and a built in webcam. The Eee PC 4 G Surf has the same features as the 4 G except there is no webcam and the battery has a smaller life of 2.8 hours. If you can live without a webcam and a little less battery life, this model is perfect and cheap at a price of only $349.
The budget model offered by ASUS is the Eee PC 2 G Surf. It's just like the 4 G Surf except that it has just 2 GB SSD which makes it perfect if you're just wanting to use it to surf the net. If you want to store photos or music you would need to buy an SD for more storage space. This model is listed at a price of just $299. I bet you didn't know there was such a thing as a new cheap laptop computer! If you are familiar with Microsoft Windows XP Home, you might prefer the Eee 4 G with Windows XP. It's currently the only model that offers Windows XP. You can expect to pay around $400 for this machine, although not bad for a brand new laptop with Windows XP software.
